A mountain bird
At the beginning of February a couple of my girlfriends and I went snowshoeing. It was a glorious sunny day. We had stopped just to take in the sights when these little guys started flying overhead. We had some seed snack so my friend put some in her hand and viola. These birds are Whiskey Jacks. They were really friendly birds...something tells me that we weren't the only ones who fed them.

I LOVE the Wisakedjak People (aka Gray Jays). They reliably help hunters find elk (they do like to share, don't they?).
ReplyDeleteHow neat to have a bird feed from your hand! I've never managed that. Great shots! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteit must have been so nice to have the bird perched on your hand! now my son is really going to be jealous of you! he keeps asking me why the birds fly away from us when we dont want to harm them!
